Amanda Jean Caruso, 28, passed away on September 9, 2025, following her brave and selfless decision to undergo a second lung transplant. Though her time here was short, Amanda filled every moment with courage, love, and joy, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed by her parents, Janice Roback Caruso and Steven Caruso; her siblings, Karli, Leeanna, and Trevor Caruso; her fiancé and true love, Matthew Henning; her future in-laws, Noreen and the late Michael Henning, and Michael Henning Jr.; her Nana, Stephanie Roback; and her extended Roback and Caruso families.
Amanda’s life was marked by resilience. Diagnosed with a rare lung disease as an infant, she received her first double lung transplant at just 17 months old—a gift that allowed her to grow, learn, and live fully. Even when her health presented challenges again, Amanda never let it define her. She pursued her passions, her education, her career, and her dreams with remarkable determination.
A graduate of Webster Thomas High School in 2014, Amanda went on to earn her esthetician license at the Continental School of Beauty and an Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology from Monroe Community College. Most recently, she became certified as an Oncology Data Specialist. Her career path reflected both her creativity and her dedication to helping others, whether through her work as an esthetician, as a surgical coordinator at Unity Hospital, or through her contributions to the Cancer Tumor Registry at Rochester Regional Health. Amanda also poured her heart into her handmade jewelry business, Tiny Woman Creations, which she built with love and talent.
Amanda was also a source of light to a much wider community. Through social media, where she began creating content at just 11 years old, she shared her journey with authenticity, humor, and hope. Her openness inspired countless people and gave them courage, showing the world what strength, grace, and joy in the face of adversity truly looked like.
Those who knew Amanda remember her as a bright, loving soul who radiated positivity. She made others feel seen and valued, always offering kindness, laughter, and encouragement. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, her friends, and the many lives she touched.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 13, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Falvo Funeral Home, 1295 Fpt. Nine Mile Pt. Rd., Webster, N.Y. 14580.
In honor of Amanda’s life, the family asks that donations be made to Donate Life America. They also encourage others to consider registering as organ donors—a legacy that brings hope and life to others, just as Amanda was twice blessed by this extraordinary gift.
